The Dental-plans.org prescription discount drugs plan links nearly
all of the largest retail chains (like Walgreen’s), as
well as smaller independent pharmacies, into a common and consistent
discount plan. Through an exclusive agreement with one of the nation's
premier prescription drug management organizations, PriMed members
can obtain discounts up to 30% on average community drug prices
through a network of more than 35,000 chain pharmacies.
Use your card at these participating pharmacy retailers:

PriMed members will always be assured of the highest quality of care in filling prescriptions for federal and state legend drug items. A prescription drug means a drug or medication ordered by a legal prescriber, which cannot, under federal or applicable state law, be sold without a prescription.
The PriMed prescription discount drugs plan provides savings on both generic and name brand prescriptions and allows for unlimited use by the member and family members, for moms and seniors... Prescription drug discounts will vary dependent upon the formula used by each chain when establishing both retail prices and average wholesale costs for their products. Certain drugs are sold as "loss leaders" and the pharmacies usual and customary charge (retail price) may be lower than the PriMed discounted price. In this situation, PriMed members will pay the store's lowest price.
The PriMed drug plan is a mandatory, on-line claim adjudication plan for all people. Because discounts are electronically determined, members are assured of receiving a consistent discount. The pharmacist enters the member's identification number printed on the PriMed identification card, into the on-line computer system and the PriMed prescription discount prices are accessed.
Brand name drugs are up to 12% discount from the Average Wholesale Price (AWP) plus a dispensing fee ($2.50) or the pharmacy’s usual and customary charge, whichever is lower.
- Generic drugs are at the Health Care Financing Administration (HCFA) established cost plus a dispensing fee ($2.50). The Health Care Financing Administration (HCFA) established cost is generally 50%-60% below the Average Wholesale Price (AWP).
- An important component of the PriMed prescription discount drugs plan is the mail order service option. The mail order service provides either brand name or generic drugs at significantly discounted prices. A 90-day supply of the prescription drug can be sent by mail order. The mail order pharmacy program is especially convenient for maintenance prescriptions. Members save time and money as trips to the pharmacy are reduced.
- PriMed members receive a patient profile and an order form with their fulfillment package. The information on each member’s health history and drug allergies is in the pharmacy’s database for future orders. Once the initial prescription is filled the member will receive a new order form for subsequent orders and refills. Those subsequent orders will go directly to the pharmacist who filled the original prescription. The member will also receive a toll free number to call the pharmacist directly in case the member has any questions.
- Orders are processed within 48 hours, although generally they are filled the same day. The mail order prescriptions are filled and checked by a registered pharmacist at a pharmacy location. Orders are mailed via first class mail.
- Brand name drugs up to 15% discount from the Average Wholesale Price plus a $.50 dispensing fee.
- Generic drugs are up to 15% discount from the HCFA cost plus a $.50 dispensing fee.
Our national network of more than 35,000 pharmacies provide quality prescription services at convenient locations. In addition, our mail service pharmacy serves the entire nation.
